Bolandcycletour day 6 – Rest day at the Lighthouse

Outing for Saturday 21 February 2026

No official cycling today, but we are going to hope onto our bicycles and casually explore the Southernmost tip of Africa. Including the stingrays in the harbour. And up the second oldest working lighthouse in the country, to get a better view of the surroundings (just hold on to your hat!). Then pause at where the warm Indian and cold Atlantic oceans meet. To appreciate how far we have already come. You are now at the Southernmost point on the African continent. Fancy a bike was or doing some laundry? Today is a great opportunity for same.

📷 See you at the Southernmost tip at 11am for a group photo!

We are still at Langezandt in Struisbaai

A beach lifestyle getaway Seaside Destination and Picturesque Coastal Village. Where the Indian and Atlantic Oceans meet at the Southernmost tip of Africa. This beautiful Beach Estate offers an exclusive and immersive experience, from the stunning beachfront properties to the cosy cottages in the heart of this secret hidden gem. More on struisbaai-langezandt-accommodation.co.za/ and we have the following properties for our guests:

Restaurants and activities

Today you are free to come and go as you please for lunch and dinner. Below are some suggested things to do and places to see in and around Struisbaai and Agulhas, including a few restaurants. However my two favourites are always the Harbour Cafe for a meal overlooking the water, or the Michael Collins if you feel like an (sorry, THE southernmost) Irish pub in Africa.

Timeline for tomorrow

  • Breakfast at you own leisure, same as today
  • Checkout at Casa Pescador is 10am, and between 10-11am elsewhere
  • 🧳 Mark and team will collect luggage at each property, starting with Pescador at 10am

  • There will be a single water point en route to Arniston tomorrow. after we turned RIGHT in Bredasdorp onto the Arniston road, roughly half-way of the total distance for tomorrow 💦
