Bolandcycletour day 19 – Finish in Stellenbosch

Tourdeboland day 6 on Friday 6 March 2026

Over Helshoogte to finish at Blaauwklippen. Route update. Start from Franschhoek for the last time as a group and hope for the same strong tail winds as during the 2025 edition. The flat road passes the Wemmershoek turnoff and we go left at Boschendal through Pniel for our last water point together. Then ascend Helshoogte from the straight side and descent into Stellenbosch on the twisty side. After which we make our way along the Eersterivier and finish where you would have seen by now. Finish at the oldest wine farm and oldest private company in the country, Blaauwklippen. High five. Good times. Coffee and maybe something stronger before you head off to Cape Town for the last part of your South African cycling adventure.

💦 Our last water point is at 20kms into the ride and half-way to the finish – in Pniel, underneath Simonsberg mountain, before Helshoogte pass. Enjoy!

Transfers to Cape Town…

🚲 “My bags are packed, and I’m ready to go”. When we arrive at the finish line at Blaauwklippen outside of Stellenbosch your bikebags will come from storage and you can pack your bicycles into the bikebags for onwards travel to CPT. This solution allows for (A) the minimum space required for transit as we do not need to send empty bicycle boxes to-and-from and (B) safe and secure bicycle transport to the Mother City. Kindly pack your bicycles and be ready to depart from Blaauklippen to Stellenbosch at 12.30. It will be a busy weekend in CPT and we want to get there early. The shuttles will be the same as from Aquila, with the exception of the bike trailers – this time there will be two luggage trailers to transport all bags and bikeboxes, plus the few rental bikes.
