Bolandcycletour day 20 – Slow day in Cape Town

Rest or registration on Saturday 7 March 2026

Rest and recover or busy tourist day. Big red bus. Table Mountain. Cable car. MOMA. CTCT registration. The list goes on. My favourite outdoor activity is hiking Leeukop. Which is on the side of Table Mountain, behind your hotel. It offers a relatively short hike up to it’s very to and offers exquisite views of the mountain above and the city bowl and ocean below. It does get busy and maybe if you ask John Boom, in his personal capacity, outside the scope of the Bolandcycletour, he may accompany you to the top. Oh, and the route splits for a (A) more direct option with ladders or a (B) flatter option around the back which adds a few steps.

What happens on Saturday?

On Saturday, John is willing to lead a group up 🌄 Lion’s head (if you’re interested, do contact him directly) — OR you can sleep late (well deserved, you’ve earned it!). The rest of the day is yours. Breakfast at the hotel. And Nico will drop off your CTCT race numbers throughout the course of the day and leave them at reception or centrally in each of the rooms for you to collect at leisure.

And Sunday? All our first time international riders start at 07.30 on Sunday – your hotel is close to the start at the 🏰 Castle of Good Hope. Cycle to the start and be early – there is an amazing atmosphere and it may take you a while to find your start chute. See you there! Cape Town Cycle Tour Sunday through the fairest of all Capes.
